What are they

In Christianity, a demon is an angel who was cast out of heaven for his deceit and pride. The supreme demon's name was Lucifer, he wished to gain the same power and strength as God. For his envy and arrogance, Lucifer and his intermediaries were tied to the earth, and they became what we call demons, demons and devils.

The demon is weaker than the demon, but smarter and more insidious than the devil. His appearance is very similar to the devil, but he is larger. The demon can take on completely different appearances, be invisible, and pass through closed doors.

In order to manifest itself in the physical world, an evil spirit needs a human body. An evil spirit can enter a person through:

  • Fright;
  • Weakening of energy;
  • By inheritance, if a person's ancestors were warlocks.

Symptoms of obsession

Obvious signs of a demon in a person:

  • Aggression without reason;
  • Depression;
  • Insomnia;
  • Obscene language;
  • Suicidal tendencies;
  • Frequent seizures;
  • Voice change;
  • Guilt.

Exorcism ritual

Jesus Christ was also an exorcist.

A ritual that casts out demons and everything unclean with the help of sacred prayers is called Exorcism.

It appeared around the first centuries AD, when there was persecution of Christians. Many church ministers hid in the catacombs; adherents who suffered for the sake of their faith could perform miracles and cast out evil spirits.

In the beginning, only Jesus Christ could cast out evil spirits; later the apostles acquired such a gift. At the founding of the church, this gift passed to the priests

In the Middle Ages, the number of healers who could exorcise demons decreased significantly. The church servants repeatedly committed grave sins and were unable to help the possessed man, but were confident in their strength. They justified their failures by saying that the demon was very strong and additional rituals were needed.

Cruel rituals were performed on the unfortunate people, they were fumigated with disgusting odors, they were not given food and water, and their bodies were burned with hot metal. It was believed that evil spirits could not withstand such torture and would soon leave the body, but the patient himself could not stand the cruel torture. The scammers claimed that the deceased was left by a demon, and his death was justified.

Requirements for an exorcist

Casting out a demon is a difficult and dangerous job; the person reading the prayer over the possessed must follow certain rules, otherwise he himself will get sick:

  • He must be older than the demoniac;
  • There should not be a zero in his date of birth;
  • The person reporting must wear a cross and fast;
  • He should not seek fame and take money for his help;
  • In the room where the prayer will be read, remove sharp objects, and it is advisable to tie the possessed person to a chair; When the demon comes out, a person may not control himself.
  • In the week when the sedum is performed, there should be no birthdays, weddings or births of children;
  • A woman with her period should not be present in the house where the ceremony is being held;
  • When reading a prayer, you should not make mistakes or skip words.

Sedum

Sedum is an Orthodox exorcism. (It is worth understanding that believers of other faiths have their own similar rituals.) Reprimand is used on people in whom a demon has settled; it is a request for help from God through prayer.

People of any religion have similar rituals.

Prayer to cast out demons from a person:

We put on the one Christ and the word of God.

Fear the devil, get away from the servant of God (name).

Christ is risen by His will, by His power I cast you out,

The terrible and unclean devil, by the power of the Most High God, the Invisible Father.

Christ was buried quickly; Christ is risen, run,

The devil, through the victory of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, and forever and ever. Amen.

The cross is on me, on God’s servant (name), the cross is on God’s servant (name).

I curse and drive out the devil with the cross.

Depart, demon and devil and unclean spirit, from me, servant of God (name).

Depart from the one in whom you are sitting, from the servant of God (name).

Retreat, step away from these doors, here sit angels and archangels, cherubim and seraphim,

Here are the Archangels Michael and Gabriel, the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Ever-Virgin, the Mother of God, the Queen of Heaven,

Who gave birth to the Creator in the flesh, Jesus Christ, our God, the King of Heaven.

By the power of Christ, be the devil and the unclean spirit cursed by all seven councils, now, forever, and forever.

Amen. The cross is the guardian of the entire Universe, the cross is the beauty of the church,

The cross is a power for kings, a cross for driving away devils from the servant of God (name).

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Biblical parable

The ancient holy scriptures say that several demons can be possessed in a person. This is mentioned in the Gospel.

One of the stories says that Jesus Christ once, while healing a sick person, asked the evil spirits: “What is your name?” In response, the demons said: “My name is Legion.”

The Savior drove out the evil spirits and infused them into the pigs, then the real animals could not stand their neighbors and rushed into the abyss.

Self-reporting

If for some reason you decide to get rid of an unwanted neighbor without the help of priests, you should know how to drive the demon out of yourself:

  • You must remain alone, the demon can quickly find a new victim;
  • The presence of icons and a pectoral cross is required;
  • You must realize that an evil spirit is directing you to all indecent acts;
  • When the sedum takes place, the demon will resist, you must not stop believing in God and in his help.

Prayer to cast out demons:

Lord God, bless. In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

I, the servant of God (name), will become blessed, and will go, crossing myself, from the hut doors, from the courtyard to the gates, into the open field behind the doors, under the morning dawn and under the eastern side, to the true Lord of hosts,

I will save Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the King of Heaven and the holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel, the six-winged cherubim and seraphim and other disembodied heavenly powers, and the holy honest prophet,

To the Forerunner and Baptist of the Lord John, and to the four holy apostles and evangelists: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John the Theologian, to the holy prophet Elijah the Tezbite.

Create, O Lord, your great Divine mercy, from the Throne of the Lord a threatening cloud, dark, stone, fiery and flaming. From that dark cloud bring down frequent rain.

In Heaven, from the Throne of the Lord, God's mercy and a threatening cloud, strong thunder and lightning begin and rise.

And the true Lord God of hosts, the Savior Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the King of Heaven, sent down His great mercy from God from the Throne of the Lord, the Holy Spirit, the king of thunder, the queen of lightning.

The king of thunder struck, the queen of lightning let down the flames, sanctified everything around, all sorts of unclean spirits galloped and scattered.

And how from that God’s mercy, from a menacing cloud, from strong thunder from lightning, a formidable thunder arrow flies out, and how menacingly, fiercely and ardently it drives out the devil and the unclean spirit of the demon K., S., S., N., and the mammoth messenger and the servant of God (name) who was with me, he drives out of the yard, breaks the stone and the tree, and just as from that formidable thunder arrow the stone cannot fly into one place, the tree cannot grow again, and so would the damned devil and the unclean spirit, the demon and the mammoth messenger and the visitor would have run away from me, the servant of God (name), from this place, far away lands, distant cities, distant villages, distant seas and could not see me, the servant of God (name), and couldn't hear.

And how are you afraid of a formidable, fiery, thunderous arrow, the devil, and with you the unclean spirit is afraid, the demon K., S, S, I., and the mammoth messenger and visitor, and also the servant of God (name) would be afraid and afraid my enemies and adversaries (names), and all sorts of unclean spirits, galloped and fled from me, the servant of God (name).

The water one goes into the water, and the forest one goes into the forest, under a dry creaking tree, under a dead root, under a bush, under a hill, and the yard mammoth is a messenger and a visitor and a cursed devil and an unclean spirit, a demon, go to your old, former place, to your dark home.

And just as the Lord makes me wise, the blind do not see, but everyone knows, so, Lord, make me, the servant of God (name), wise to go to the unclean demons with the cross and prayer.

The voice of Thy thunder in the chariot, Thy lightning will illuminate, the Universe moves, and the earth is in trembling, just as unclean spirits would tremble from me, the servant of God (name), and as our parents lie in the earth, they do not feel the ringing of bells or the singing of church , and so my conspiracy-sentence would be strong, strong at all times and until the next century, forever and ever.

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen. I will become a servant of God (name), having been blessed, I will go from west to east. The king of a menacing cloud rises, and under the menacing cloud the king of thunder rushes about with the queen of lightning.

Just as the enemy devils flee from the king of thunder and the queen of lightning: forest, water, yard and every unclean creature - to their dark estates: under a stump, under a log, into pools and lakes, so they would flee from those living in these mansions, from me , servant of God (name).

All sorts of enemies of man would run: forest devils, water devils, yard devils: under a stump, under a log, into lakes, into muddy water, into pools, into dry bushes, under broken untrodden bridges.

They would run recklessly and irrevocably, century after century, from now on and forever. Amen

Signs of liberation

When an evil spirit comes out, a person may experience the following symptoms:

  • Cold;
  • Body trembling or shaking;
  • Physical pain;
  • Increased pressure;
  • yawning, coughing, or slow breathing;
  • Abdominal pain, heartburn, vomiting;
  • Migraine;
  • Involuntary movements;
  • Body breaking;
  • Screaming and screaming;
  • Pupil dilation;
  • Strabismus;
  • Escape;
  • Hiss;
  • Stench;
  • Scratching movements;
  • Writhing.

Other rituals

In addition to Orthodox prayers, there are also folk rituals that help expel demons from the human body, which can be used at home.

An example of how to cast a demon out of a person:

A person possessed by a demon must sit on a threshold anywhere, inside or outside a living space. At the same time, there should not be any decorations on it, except for the cross. He needs to put a snow-white towel under his feet, throw some change on it, but not count it, and sprinkle some sunflower seeds next to him, and he should start combing his hair and cracking the seeds.

The demon will begin to ask: “What are you doing?”

You need to answer freely and without fear: “I comb my hair and pick out lice.”

The evil spirit will ask: “Do people eat lice?”

“Does the dead inhabit the living?”

After these words, the demon will leave. In order for him not to return, all objects from the ceremony must be wrapped and taken to the cemetery, placed there on any grave and said:

“I’m returning it, I’ll be alive, and you’ll lie in the ground.

The moon and the sun walk together in the same sky and do not converge, so we will never meet you again.

Cross yourself three times and leave without looking back.

Forum “Gadalkin House”: active discussions on the topic

Cursed houses

An evil force can enter not only the human soul, but also live in a living space. The ideal house for demons is the one where murders and suicides were committed. Often evil spirits move into apartments where heavy alcoholics and drug addicts live, where they often swear and make trouble.

If you have purchased housing with otherworldly neighbors, they must be expelled, otherwise the demons will push you to drunkenness and suicide. Don't expect a pleasant life with them.

Where do they go

When leaving, the demon must immediately move into a new soul. If he does not find the next victim, he returns to the person from whom he was expelled. If a person leads an immoral lifestyle, the demon returns with seven more evil spirits and takes possession of him. Therefore, it is so important to take communion after the ceremony and maintain a decent lifestyle. When Jesus cast out demons, he did not tell them where to go. The demons themselves asked him to instill them in the animals.

To drive the demon out of yourself, read a special prayer at home. You rage, get angry, scream. Don't despair, the demon will be cast out forever!

As far as I know, the priest is dealing with this issue, not of his own free will, but with the permission of the church diocese.

One of my friends was already reading a prayer text, being in a terrible and inadequate state.

Surprisingly, he is not a drunkard. I've never been a rowdy guy.

And then he goes berserk, snaps at his loved ones, calling them obscene names.

Dear readers, prayer helped him.

If you notice an uncontrollable demon in yourself, do not go to church, because the devil sitting inside will begin to be indignant.

Without lighting candles or looking at Orthodox icons, mutter this prayer at home.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God. With a holy breath, drive out from me the demonic essence that takes possession of my soul and tempts me.
I believe in the Church, icons, and God's Laws. Let the demon sitting inside find a suitable house.
I repent of countless sins, which were committed by will in the days of renunciation from God.
Let your will be done now and forever and forever and ever. Amen.

When you cast out a demon from yourself with prayer, you will certainly encounter devilish resistance.

To prevent demonic migration, it is advisable that no one be at home during the expulsion.

A demon is an evil, insidious and domineering spirit, standing higher in the hellish hierarchy than an ordinary demon. The study of these inorganic incorporeal entities is carried out by a special science called demonology. An ordinary person cannot effectively resist a demon without resorting to the help of higher spiritual powers.

He does not have the capabilities and experience of resisting the devil’s assistant, who is capable of living for millions of years by assimilating dark energy. However, the question of how to expel a demon from a person interests many?

How to determine that a demon has possessed a person?

Since demons are fallen angels, and people are the image and likeness of God, satanic efforts are aimed primarily at the destruction of the soul. Demons descend into hell, report to Satan about the atrocities they have committed, receive instructions and orders, and then return to the surface of the earth.

The Church warns that non-trivial spiritual knowledge should not be taken literally. This means that the abode of fallen spirits is inaccessible to underground drilling. The underworld, which is the interior of the earth, is a different kind of space that extends somewhere outside of this world.

An evil spirit, trying to penetrate a person, can take the form of obvious evil or hide behind kindness and deceive minds. Therefore, the Apostle Paul called for vigilance and caution in feelings, thoughts, words, actions and deeds.

Macarius the Great, Ignatius Brianchaninov and other saints who have the gift of seeing what is hidden from the eyes of ordinary people note the following: signs of demons:

  • Availability subtle etheric body.
  • The ability to copy human appearance, talk and feel.
  • Ugly, brutal look, indecency that inspires horror.
  • Constant birth and development of evil.
  • Ability to quickly overcoming space.

Demons are made of a substance that is much finer than the substance of the human body. This gives them a huge advantage in freedom of action, and metaphysical capabilities allow them to penetrate people. Ethereal spirits are initially endowed with powers that powerfully influence the material world.

Demons know the structure and laws of the Universe much better than mere mortals. The gospel stories say a lot about the presence of demons on earth and their cruelest atrocities. Entering people and animals, they subject the victim to terrible torture and become sources of various ailments and diseases. Negative energy affects the mental, sensory, volitional and physical spheres of the human being.

The entrance of demons into the interior of the physical body resembles the movement of air, only the demonic entity is currently in a gaseous state. Mixing with the soul does not occur, but violence can continue for many years and lead to death.

Symptoms of demonic damage are different: clouding of mind, fever, feeling of unbearable cold, intoxication. A person loses strength, energy, determination, and can be completely immobilized. He often hears voices calling for murder and self-mutilation, is subject to fits and convulsions, lustful thoughts, and voluptuous dreams. Demons love to imbue their victims with blasphemy, anger, rage, sadness, vanity, and pride.

A good test for the presence of demons in the human body is drinking holy water. Due to the influences exerted on the soul, the possessed person will not drink holy water. Such water can cause burns and irritation if it comes into contact with the skin. It should be noted that the internal changes of the possessed person are sharply manifested externally:

  • Distorted gloomy face.
  • Wild screams in a changed voice.
  • Attacks of unmotivated anger.
  • Incredible physical strength alternates with moments of complete weakness.

A sure diagnostic sign of demonic possession is shown by a ritual using salt. After the person holds the salt in his hands, let him pour it into the frying pan. Heat for 20 minutes and watch the color change. If the salt turns black, your ward is tormented by a demon.

Ways to fight

In order to defeat a demon, you need to know how it gains access to the soul and the mechanism for moving this evil “tenant” in. To have an enemy within oneself, capable of attracting hordes of demons, means losing vital energy every day and tending to death.

Deprived of the opportunity to make the soul his container, the messenger of the devil seeks to penetrate its physical shell and attack in close proximity. But first, the unclean spirit has to take possession of a person’s mind. When the unfortunate person exposes his mind, not remembering God, losing the protective fear of God, he becomes obsessed with demonism. It is typical for evil spirits to attack those deprived of help and disarmed.

Clairvoyants claim that the demon makes a home in the human body, as if this possession is intended for evil spirits. Gregory the Theologian confirms that the devil takes complete possession of people only when there is no proper resistance. Therefore, to prevent demonism, do not allow the Lord’s special connivance, which is the result of your passions and frivolous sinful life.

The demon not only inhabits, but takes possession of the individual. External subordination of mental forces to demonic will is much more common than simple demonic possession. Church hierarchs think so, although for an ordinary layman everything looks different. Recently, in many countries, the passion for the love of money has intensified; money is taking over hearts and minds, depriving the most effective way of fighting demons - preventive.

The atoning merits of Christ grant freedom from the power of the devil and enable the demon to be cast out. In the fight against demons, it is highly recommended to use:

sign of the cross, prayer for sobriety and humility, invoking the name of the Savior by the word of God

The help of clergy is mandatory and represented by the following means:

  • repentance
  • participle
  • spells cast over the victim
  • sprinkling with holy water
  • miraculous icons
  • effect of incense
  • holy relics

Spells

Early in the morning, during the rising Sun, collect water from a clear river or lake. At home, placing water on a flat surface, light a candle bought in church. It is advisable that an icon or cross be installed above the entrance to each room. Read a plot that will be selected for you by people knowledgeable in spiritual matters (priests, magicians, healers). Amateur activity is not welcome here.

During the procedure, it is necessary to cross the water three times. When finished, spit three times over your left shoulder, sprinkle the possessed person with water, and drink the remaining water.

If you have not found a mentor, then you can use this spell to banish the demon:

We cast out you, the spirit of all uncleanness, every power of Satan, every hostile encroacher of hell, every legion, every assembly and sect of the devil, in the name and virtue of our Lord Jesus Christ, be uprooted and flee from the Church of God, from souls created in the image of God and by the precious blood of the Lamb redeemed. You no longer dare, most cunning serpent, to deceive the human race, persecute the Church of God and tear away God’s chosen ones and scatter them like wheat. The Almighty God commands you, with whom you still want to be equal in your great pride; who wants to save all people and bring them to the knowledge of the truth. God the Father commands you; God the Son commands you; God the Holy Spirit commands you. The greatness of Christ, the eternal God of the Word incarnate, commands you, who, for the sake of the salvation of our race, fallen through your envy, humbled himself and was obedient even to death; who built his church on a strong rock and promised that the gates of hell would not prevail against it, for he himself would remain with it until the end of time. The mystery of the cross and all the mysteries of the Christian faith commands you to nobility. The high Mother of God, the Virgin Mary, commands you, who struck your most arrogant head from the first moment of her immaculate conception in her humility. The faith of the holy apostles Peter and Paul and the other apostles commands you. The blood of the martyrs and all holy men and women commands you pious intercession.

In Latin

This method can be resorted to only as a last resort, when it is not possible to directly visit the church. For there is a danger of aggression of evil forces towards you. By expelling the demon from the victim, you may become a target for attack. It will be extremely difficult to eject the harmful force from yourself.

During the ritual of exorcism, spells pronounced in Latin help to exorcise the demon. A very trained and protected magician must do this. The sign of the cross, holy water, and incense are used as additions to a very long spell. The first part is designed to expel evil spirits from the human body. It is formulated as follows:

Regna terrae, cantate deo, psallite Domino qui véhitur per calus, caelos antiquos! Ecce, edit vocem suam, vocem potentem: Akinoscite potentiam dei!

Majestas ejus, Et potentia ejus In nubibus.

Timendus est dues e sancto suo, Dues Israel: ipse potentiam Datet robur populo suo Benedictus dues. Gloria Patri.

The second part of the Latin spell sends the demon back to hell. It sounds like this:

Exorcizamus te, omnis immundus spiritus omnis satanica potestas, omnis incursio infernalis adversarii, omnis legio, omnis congregatio et secta diabolica.

Ergo draco maledicte et omnis legio diabolica adjuramus te. cessa decipere humanas creaturas, eisque aeternae Perditionis venenum propinare.

Vade, Satana, inventor et magister omnis fallaciae, hostis humanae salutis. Humiliare sub potenti manu dei, contremisce et effuge, invocato a nobis sancto et terribili nomine, quem inferi tremunt. Ab insidiis diaboli, libera nos, Domine.

Ut Ecclesiam tuam secura tibi facias libertate servire te rogamus, audi nos.

Prayers

Prayers that drive out a demon include the following: “Our Father,” “The Most Holy Trinity,” Psalms 50, 34, 90. There is a special prayer for the exorcism ritual, which is read by the priest. We present its contents.

Jesus Christ, You are the son of the living God, You performed miracles for people, before You demons take flight, next to You the blind receive their sight, next to You the dead come to life, You, the One who was crucified and then resurrected, You are the one who the feat glorified the holy cross. Lord, Son of God, look into these eyes, find in them images from the devil, drive out all evil spirits from this white body, and save this soul. Save, Lord, You save this innocent soul, protect it from all evil forever and endlessly. Let what is said come true. Amen. Amen. Amen.

In everyday life, while everything is fine with us, we don’t even think about the fact that there is a world of spiritual entities called angels and demons. The latter are discussed a lot in the Holy Scriptures, which are simply replete with descriptions of the effects of evil spirits on humans. This could be attributed to the medieval perception of the world by the holy fathers, but everything is not so simple. There are very few stories about angels, because they are our protectors, and it is not at all necessary to know how they help. But demons are very serious enemies; in order to be able to resist them, you must definitely study methods of dealing with them. Jesus Christ himself said in his sermon that this race can only be driven out by fasting and prayer. How is a prayer from a demon read, who can help in this matter?

How does it inhabit a person?

According to Anthony the Great, people themselves are to blame for the fact that there is so much demonism in our world. Demons are incorporeal creatures, but an ordinary person can become a shelter for them, accepting their temptations, will and nasty thoughts. A person thus agrees with this evil. The Holy Fathers do not talk about the devil as something abstract; their stories are quite scary and frightening. They knew from personal experience the workings of these dark forces and could know how to resist them. And here a strong prayer from the demon cannot always help.

Definition

This evil force, constantly opposing man and aimed at turning man away from God, was called by the Companions differently, and it has many synonyms: Satan (Heb.) - “enemy”; devil (Greek) - “gossip and slanderer”; demon (glory) - a derivative word from “to be afraid”; demon (Greek) - “spirit, false god”; crafty (glory) - “deceiver and cunning”; devil (glory) - “cut, cut off.”

In reality, on this earth, man is endowed by God with free will and chooses whose will he will follow - God or the devil. They believed that there are two types of obsession. The first is when the demon acts as a second personality, subjugating the personality of the demoniac himself. The second is when a person’s will is enslaved by sinful passions. John of Kronstadt, observing the possessed, believed that demons enter ordinary people due to their simplicity; the evil spirit enters intelligent and educated people in a slightly different form, and in this case it is much more difficult to fight it.

Fighting sins

Almost all people are overcome by passions and have a tendency to irritation, and this also means obsession. Through sins, the soul finds itself under demonic influence. The devil enters it like a pathogenic bacterium into the body and begins its negative activities. To avoid getting sick and protect yourself, a person needs a strong immune system. Protection from demons is spiritual improvement and direction towards God.

You can save your soul from evil spirits by reading prayers. However, an ordinary person will not be able to do this; it is too arrogant and very dangerous for a spiritually unprotected person to enter into the fight against the dark forces of evil.

Many people are interested in what a prayer from a demon sounds like. It is necessary to understand that performing such rituals yourself is strictly prohibited. We must also take into account the fact that not even every priest will take on this matter, and then only with the blessing of the bishop.

Faith in God

Demons in a person are driven out most importantly by sincere faith in God. Before this process, you must confess your sins and receive communion. The reprimand will be within the power of a prayer monk who has not known sin and carnal pleasures. The key point here is strict fasting. The soul of an unprepared person will not be able to cope with the expulsion of evil spirits. In this case, the prayer will not work positively, and the result, on the contrary, can be very unexpected and disastrous.

A monk, having received instructions from senior spiritual brethren, is endowed with supernatural strength and protection, with the help of which he can cope.

Prayer that casts out demons is called exorcist prayer. It should also be noted that 90% of people ended up in the hands of the devil because of their involvement in the occult. He can bend unnaturally, scream in a frantic voice, convulse, and often he develops such enormous physical strength that several people cannot cope with him. This reaction often manifests itself when seeing shrines, reading Holy Scripture and prayers. It is also interesting that the possessed, or, as they are popularly called, cliques, unmistakably identify a glass of holy water. If you bring them a glass of holy water, they immediately begin to suffer from seizures. There can be no magic involved in the process.

Prayer from the demon

There is a prayer called delaying the actions of the devil by Elder Pansophius of Athos. This prayer is recommended for devotees of piety for daily reading. No blessing is required for it. It begins with the words: “Merciful, Lord! You once through the mouth of a servant...”

The answer to the question of which prayer helps best against evil spirits can be obtained from a book called “The Complete Orthodox Prayer Book for Every Need.” There is a section with prayers “On driving away evil spirits from people.” All of them are read only with the blessing of the priest-confessor. These are prayers: To the heavenly powers, St. Martyrs Cyprian and Justina, Psalm 67, Psalm 90, Psalm 102, Psalm 126, St. Martyr Tryphon, Rev. Cornelius of Pskov-Pechersk, Rev. Mary of Egypt, etc.

There is another wonderful collection of Orthodox Christians called “Prayer Shield”. There, in the section “Prayers for the exorcism of demons” you can read the prayers: St. John of Novgorod, Venerable Anthony the Great, Rev. Irinarch of Rostov, Rev. Seraphim of Sarov and many more different prayers.

A prayer against evil spirits should come from the lips of a person with a pure heart and sincere faith, then, perhaps, it will be possible to achieve the desired result and free the possessed person from the terrible murderous force.

I was recently talking with young leaders and they raised an interesting question about deliverance ministry. It seems that many Spirit-filled Christians have conflicting opinions on this matter. How can we bring the goodness and glory of Jesus to those who are stricken in darkness?

I'll share seven things you need to know to cast out demons.

1. Talk to the person, not the demon.

As you work toward deliverance, remember that you are serving a man or woman, not a demon. Keep calm and love. Always keep your personality a priority. Ask them if they can hear you. If they don't respond, another spirit is likely dominant. You must take authority over him in the name of Jesus. The demon may try to show itself by making the person growl, howl, argue, threaten, or grimace. Do not speak to the demon unless it is commanded to him in the name of Jesus. Speak clearly and with authority.

2. Find out if the person wants to be released.

If the demon-possessed person does not sincerely want help, it will be an uphill battle. Whatever space you conquer will be repopulated later (Matthew 12:43-45). Ask them if they really want liberation. If you discover that the person wants to continue to be tied down, your best course of action is to wait. Give love and care and get it over with until they rethink your offer.

3. Lead them in prayer of dissolution and repentance.

If there is an openness to the work of Jesus, you should boldly lead them in prayer to break demonic bonds. Help them verbally cancel all ungodly agreements and forgive everyone in their lives. We want to close all “open doors”. Let a person renounce, in the name of Jesus, all sins and spiritual addictions. It is at this time that a person must renounce any internal vows, covenants and curses. This refusal must be proclaimed firmly and loudly: the prohibition is not a prayer to God, but an order proclaimed to the enemy.

4. Pray prayers of command.

Now is the time to order all the spirits to leave. Deliverance is not a traditional prayer, it is a command prayer. It is directed not to heaven, but to the spirit of evil, and is an order to him: “get away!” This prayer is supported by God's authority and is proclaimed in the name of Jesus Christ.

The Apostle Paul, for example, cast out the spirit of prophecy from a maidservant in Thyatira. This demon bothered him while he was serving others.

“She did this for many days. Paul, indignant, turned and said to the spirit: in the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her. And the spirit left at that very hour.”(Acts 16:18)

When the time comes to begin the prayer of command, you can say something like: “ I destroy your power and forbid you to own this person. I command you to leave this man in the name of Jesus!

5. Fill the void.

Once the demons have been cast out, the next step is to “fill the void.” After the demons leave, a spiritual vacuum remains in the previously suffering person. Therefore, we end our prayer by asking God to fill the empty space with the goodness, the Spirit and the life of Jesus. If the Holy Spirit does not “possess” a person, demons will constantly try to return back. We want to end any release on a positive, God-centered note, praying to be filled with every power and virtue that characterizes the life of Jesus.

6. Give thanks and praise.

At this point it is time to direct the liberated one to express thanksgiving and praise. This should be a truly joyful time. We want to show how grateful we are for the wonderful things Jesus did. Thanks and praise affirm the work done and everyone's opportunity to receive more of the Kingdom.

7. Development of a new lifestyle and behavior.

Even if people are already liberated, they still need someone's help in their relationships and responsibilities. Encourage them to seek prayer and counseling (if necessary). The person may also need to take some steps towards building a spiritual fortress that will withstand his weaknesses. For years, their thoughts and feelings were shaped by destructive patterns. They need to change these habitual patterns of behavior. Encourage them to attend church regularly, pray, and read the Bible. Receive them into Christian society so that they can discover a new way of life.

conversation No. 3

The devil is the main personality of the kingdom of darkness. Demons, demons, evil spirits, unclean spirits - one and the same. In Greek "daimonian" - in Greek mythology this creature is half-god, half-man. The Greeks worshiped and revered him. Almost all pagan religions are built on the worship of evil spirits. People try to win them over. In practice, in exorcism we are dealing with demons, not angels or the devil himself. Demons are bound to the earth (Matt. 12:43-45). Demons constantly need a body to express themselves. There are people possessed by demons who are not in their right mind (Mark 5:2-14). A person has demons (in Ukrainian translation - there is a demon). Demons try to attack each of us (1 Pet. 5:8). A Christian cannot be possessed by a demon, but the demon can control one of the spheres of his life, just as mice can live in our apartment, where we are the owners, or like in any country, on the one hand, the power of the president, on the other hand, the existence of a mafia that absolutely does not obey the president. Demons, like the mafia, live in gangs. The Holy Spirit gradually leads us to perfection and liberation (Rom. 8:26). Many Christians suffer from depression and internal problems that have not been resolved for years. And we should not say: “Peace, peace” when there is no peace and frivolously heal wounds. Sometimes fasting and prayer reveal a problem, but a person does not know how to get out of this problem.

What does the Bible say about satanic spirits and their actions?
1.List:
a) in the Old Testament: the spirit of jealousy (Num. 5:14,30), the evil spirit (Judges 9:23; 1 Kings 16:14-23; 18:10; 19:9), the lying spirit (3 Kings ... 4:12; 5:4), unclean spirit (Zech. 13:2);
b) in the New Testament: a dumb and deaf spirit (Mark 9:25), an unclean spirit (Mark 9:25), a spirit of weakness (Luke 13:11), a spirit of divination (Acts 16:16), a spirit- the deceiver (1 Tim. 4:1), the spirit of fear (2 Tim. 1:7), the spirit of error (1 John 4:6);

2. Actions of spirits.
a) These spirits have two tasks: to prevent us from repenting and to prevent spiritual growth. Example: the action of the spirit of sleep. A spirit that constantly tries to put us to sleep: a person reads the Bible and falls asleep, but can watch various television programs for hours and until late. What do you think causes the same believers to fall asleep in the congregation?
b) The spirit of fornication. Not every person who has fallen into this sin has the spirit of fornication. But if, after repeated repentance, this repeats again and again, and a person cannot cope with this sin, this is the spirit of fornication. Often this spirit is inherited. The girl's story that she feels the strong influence of this spirit: her mother is a harlot;
c) Spirit of despondency (Isa. 61:3) - deep depressions that deprive the joy of salvation (Prov. 17:22);
d) The spirit of gossip - when a person, like a magpie, like a tsetse fly, spreads deadly poison throughout the church;
e) The spirit of evil - a mother beats her children, not wanting it herself, being under duress.

the old man and demons
1. Every born-again Christian feels the struggle between the flesh and the spirit (Gal. 5:17). By nature we are rebels and children of Adam, each of us has the sinful nature of Adam. The old nature cannot be cast out. The solution to the problem of the old man is crucifixion. Those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts (Gal. 5:24). Romans 6 describes the solution to the problem of the old man - “count yourselves dead to sin...”, “do not give over your members to sin...”, etc. (see also Rom. 7:14:25).

2. The problem of a person in whom demons live:
a) demons do not die and cannot be crucified, they only need to be cast out;
b) a constantly recurring sinful habit possessing a person - the source is demons;
c) demons torment us if we have not forgiven our offender (Matt. 18:34-35). They torment us with condemnation and guilt. Demons torment us with fear (of strong people, fear of getting sick, or simply fear of “what will happen tomorrow?”). Everything that is forced is from demons.

3. How demons enter:
a) by inheritance - our ancestors were engaged in serving demons;
b) personal sins - occultism, immoral lifestyle;
c) in childhood - through violence against the child, through fear. Many children suffer because of resentment towards their parents. Remember that the one who cannot forgive suffers more than the one who offended.

how to free yourself from demons
1. Deep humility - humble yourself and admit that this is your problem. Leave your dignity for a while and receive liberation from God. Self-esteem will return a little later. (Ps. 137:6) - God sees the proud from afar and keeps him afar.

2. Know the truth. “The truth will set you free” (John 8:32).
a) You must realize that this is your problem, and whoever is honest with himself, frank, exhausted, will passionately crave his liberation; example: when Peter was walking on the water and was afraid of the waves, he cried out: “Lord, save me” (Matthew 14:30). You should call a hammer a hammer, not a plumber's tool.

3. Confession of your sins before God. Bring all your sinful things into the light of God, remember everything, recognize it as sin, and remember that you cannot surprise God with anything.

4. Repentance. This is an act of will, turning away from evil deeds. In the Psalms, David says: “They are my enemies; should I not hate them?” Renounce the occult, horoscopes, hypnosis, fortune telling and any connection with demons. If this is not done heartily, demons will not be able to leave the person.

5. Forgive others, living or dead, and forgive them all wrongs.

6. Call on the name of the Lord and you will be saved. Remember what Christ said: “Whoever comes to Me I will never cast out.” Mtf. 12:26-28: Christ cast out demons by the Spirit of God, and now the Spirit of God is casting them out in the same way. In In. 7:37-39 shows how we are to receive the Holy Spirit: “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.” Casting out demons is an exhalation, just as we exhale smoke. In Greek and Hebrew, "spirit" is wind or breath. When a minister in the name of Jesus Christ orders the demons to come out of a person, then the first or third breath can be yours, and then, if there are demons, they will begin to manifest themselves. Exile is sometimes accompanied by yawning, screaming, crying, sobbing (Acts 8:7), coughing, squealing, groaning, roaring. Don’t pray at this time, let the demons go, let them leave you freely. Do this with faith that the Lord said, “In My name they will cast out demons” (Mark 16:17).

Why don't people accept liberation?
1. Lack of repentance.
2. Lack of exhaustion.
3. Wrong motives.
4. Self-focus - desire for attention.
5. Reluctance to break with the occult.
6. Reluctance to break the binding emotional relationships.
7. Lack of release from the curse.
8. Refusal to confess certain sins.
9. "Non-separateness" through water baptism.
10. Part of a big battle.

Demons enter the souls of people, turning their lives into hell on earth. And only a special prayer, which in Orthodoxy is also called a rebuke, can one cope with evil spirits. In the Trinity-Sergius Lavra, demons are cast out by the most powerful exorcist in Russia, Archimandrite German. Our correspondent went to Sergiev Posad to see the ceremony with her own eyes.

There's nowhere for an apple to fall in church

From Moscow to Sergiev Posad is just an hour by train. In the carriage I wear a cord with a small silver cross around my neck. I haven’t yet crossed the gates of the monastery, and I’m already uneasy: what if a demon expelled from a person comes to inhabit me?

Archimandrite German reprimands those possessed by evil spirits in the gateway church of John the Baptist. Most Orthodox priests consider mass reprimands to be extremely dangerous, since in church people, as a rule, are open and you can not only not get rid of your own demon, but also catch someone else’s. But the Trinity exorcist is not embarrassed by the opinions of his colleagues. Although, for the sake of decency, there is a notice on the door of the temple stating that before reprimanding you should receive a blessing from your priest. I hesitantly grab the handle and go inside. I climb up a long narrow staircase, the space around me shrinks, and I feel scared again. But here is the last step - and in front of me is the entrance to the church hall. It’s half an hour before the service, but there’s nowhere for an apple to fall. There are also crowds of people in the next room; I have difficulty finding a free place near the grating through which the altar is visible.

I had previously only seen such a number of believers at a service during an Easter service. A guy of about twenty is dozing on the stone floor listening to rap music from the player. His elderly father and mother wait intently, shifting from foot to foot. Meanwhile, a gypsy woman with a tired face tries to calm the crying child. There are many mothers with children and quite handsome middle-aged men and women in the church. I study the situation, my legs begin to buzz from standing for a long time, but the service does not begin at the agreed time.

“Father Herman is always about twenty minutes late so that people can tune in spiritually,” explains my neighbor.

– Why are there so many people? Is everyone really possessed by demons? – I continue the conversation.

- Well, what are you talking about! – my interlocutor reassures me. - This is a general service, Father Herman scolds everyone - both the sick and the possessed.
Our conversation is interrupted by screams. Some woman felt sick from the stuffiness and was asked to give her some water.

An inhuman howl rang out in the crowd

An elderly servant in black vestments appears at the icons. She asks those present to open the windows. Then they explained to me that demons who left the body of the possessed during the service fly out through the windows. And finally a priest with a huge gray beard appears - this is Father German. A reverent silence freezes in the hall, the archimandrite begins to read a sermon. I grab my notepad and pen, but immediately forget about them, dumbfounded with surprise.

“The demon can only be conquered by fasting and prayer,” says the priest. – No pills or dirt will help. Demons settle in the internal organs of a person, destroy blood vessels, heart, kidneys. In women, these are often veins.

“It turns out that demons live in all people who have something in pain! So, my chronic gastritis is also a demonic obsession?!”

Father Herman, as if answering my silent question, begins to reproach sinners who commit unseemly acts, thereby opening the way into their bodies for demons.

“Everyone seemed to have gone crazy.” Women smoke, drink, wear pants. They watch films that destroy the soul... - Father Herman continues.

He ends his speech with words about the Antichrist and the Apocalypse. Then the priest warns that he will read a special prayer against demons, it only affects the baptized, the rest must leave, and all those remaining must have Orthodox crosses.

The service continues, and I catch myself thinking that this is the most ordinary prayer service - the priest says something, the parishioners are baptized, and I came here in vain. And suddenly... somewhere in the crowd a strange sound is heard. It gets louder and I realize that it is... a dog howling!!! The crowd in the hall presses against the wall: I rise on tiptoe and see a quite decent-looking lady squirming on the floor in convulsions. Her wild howl makes your ears pop. The unfortunate woman is baptized and sprinkled with holy water, after which she calms down a little...

Individual reporting for wealthy clients

Without waiting for the end of the service, I go down the stairs. At the exit, Father Herman is guarded by two men in tracksuits and knitted hats. We start a conversation.

“I’ve known Father Herman for twenty years,” says the most well-fed one. - He is the best exorcist.

– Do you think I can talk to him?

- It is unlikely. If you want a separate appointment, a special approach is needed. Father chastises both the sick and the possessed individually behind closed doors. It all depends on the price of the issue. I myself am from the Tver region, I came to ask for a fellow countrywoman. She has cancer. Here, I prepared in advance,” the man shows a thick envelope.

Father Herman appears on the stairs, my interlocutor rushes to meet him. They step aside, the envelope ends up in the hands of the archimandrite. Father Herman advises something in the man’s ear. Several more people try to make their way to the priest, but they are pushed back by “bodyguards” in robes. Herman quickly leaves the temple and gets into a black Porsche Cayenne with tinted windows.

In the Christian Church, Jesus Christ is considered the first exorcist. The Bible contains numerous descriptions of how he cast out demons and healed the afflicted. “Then they brought to Him a demon-possessed man, blind and dumb; and he healed him, so that the blind and dumb began to speak and see” (Gospel of Matthew (12:22). As it is said in the Gospel, Christ transferred demons from human bodies into pigs and commanded them to drown themselves.

The modern rite of exile in Orthodoxy can be seen in Pavel Lungin’s film “The Island”. Exorcism also exists in other faiths; it is especially often practiced in Catholicism.

Possessed people need help from doctors

Olga Arnold, psychotherapist, candidate of psychological sciences:

– People who convulse at church services, of course, are not possessed by any demons. Most often we are talking about a hysterical attack, that is, it is not even a serious mental illness, but a character trait. Possessed people unconsciously tune themselves into a trance state. Exorcism can do a lot of harm here; such people need the help of a psychotherapist.
